You do not even want to meet any lawmaker. No i donot want to meet any law maker especially representing IV because i do not beleive what IV proposes (and which i have to rep[eate to teh law maker) is doing is going to do good to my personal case of GC (and yes if you want to call me selfish go ahead but remember eveyrone here is becasue they want to do something about thier personal GC case so everyone is selfish)

EB3 other workers visa very less in numbers but more people are available as it is unskilled. So that case cannot be equated to high skilled categories.
In EB2 and EB3 total eligible person I am expecting is 200 to 300K that too all may not file due to person reasons like marriage etc. For 100 to 140K Gc numbers 200k numbers will not make them too crowded to stop in the middle.

Well it is a big deal for all Indians. I am not talking per se about SRK but as a fellow Indian. Does it take 2 hrs to ascertain his identity when he was here as a guest to the Indian Embassy as a Cultural Ambassador of India to participate in the Indian Independence Day Celebrations!!!

Would it keep quiet if:
1) Their ex-president is searched by an airline staff

One possible argument someone can make is , if there isn't a per country limit on H1Bs, why should there be one on GCs?
We can have a lawsuit saying, cap both visa types or cap none.
If ever this law suit come before a judge, we can potentially win by creating a list of all the lost oppurtunities, lost time and money etc, basically building a human story around the restriction.
Other than that, I don't think per country qouta violates the constitution.
Anyways, I am enjoying this thread, very logical arguments in each reply.

This thread is enough to keep the BP at higher levels to the already stressed out folks.
A lot of people who do not follow immigration stuff have the following perception
(1) All dates moved - we will all get green cards
(2) People started applying PERM now - thinking they can make it by September
(3) They think US wants to keep its valuble people and thats why they opened up the gates

(5) Some thing There is a link between CIR and this. Before CIR is forced implemented they want to clear their existing backlogs so that they get ready to deal with Y and Z stuff
(6) Some think this decision was taken to clear backlogs so that every new applicant will come under the new points system proposed in CIR

Giving an interim GC while visa number is unavailable will have the effect of bypassing the entire GC quota system. How do you want the interim card to be different from the final thing? No way that anyone in Congress will allow for their laws to be overridden through USCIS rulemaking.

The logic being applied at the NotCanada website is perplexing. Yes, the Canadian immigration system can be improved, but people who qualify to get in think by stepping foot on the soil their lives will be all peachy are delusional. It would be like any of you EBs coming to the US with no job offer. How long would you survive? I doubt 4 weeks. You wouldn't be able to rent a place, get a credit card, or, duh, have a paycheck. Obviously you think US is easy because when you come here, you're already employed. Canada can improve immigration system by encouraging immigrants to look for jobs before carting their entire families over. But still, the burden is on the immigrant to use their common sense. Canada, nor any country, owes you a job of your liking. YOU have to take care of yourself. It's mind boggling that an educated doctor from another country doesn't ask one colleague, or research the internet, or apply for a job, before immigrating to a country on the otherside of the planet.

I have no problem with any individual but I hate my ex employer and their class ( in no uncertain terms ). I was earning for them , but he and his wife used to behave like big boss to me.Why I shed no tears for them. They think themselves as Ambani but will not hire few good marketing folks who can bring projects from direct clients. There business model is like the following example ( joke ). A bihari gone to punjab and started working for sardarji for food and shelter.While he asked the sardarji for food , he said go that building eat as much you want and take this tifin box and pack some food for me too. Just tell them that I have sent you . After some time Bihari came to know that it was Gurudwara and food was lunger. I consider these body shop no different then that Sardarji. Opening a co ( body shop ) requires phone and outlook. WOW. The h1b rules allow a space for them. With this new rule , they are gone for good. Let me make it very clear , I hate body shopper . It is mere chance that they are from particular state. I fully sympathize with all H1B holder and again let me insist all deserving H1b people will be better off with this memo. So after coming here by showing your desperation to earn dollars with an NIIT diploma or some shady donation college degree you came via a body shopper. You made a choice in life fully knowing what you are doing. Now you left your bodyshopper and want to hurt him and feel happy for the rule because you do not want others like you to come to US of A via bodyshoppers.
You know why? Because you do not want other Indians to come behind you and compete with you for jobs.
Learn to live and let live. Din't they teach you in India as an Indian value. Good luck with your greencard.

There is no doubt Everyone knows that H1b and GC laws are crazy. For that we need to fight to change the law but should not encourage to violate the law. If USCIS violates law lawsuit should be filed. That is the rightway.
Isn't that the point what all anti-consulting folks are making here ? They want all existing laws (plus all laws they themselves created to satisfy their sadistic self) to be strictly followed. If that is the case snram4's relative should have been deported.
What many do not understand is H1B laws are insane and irrational. Many from our country doesn't have the guts to fight crazy laws. All they are good at is screwing their own fellow country men out of jealousy or selfishness.

For the past 2 years there were so many RFEs and denials and no body knew what basis. But if they bring a regulation and follow that everybody can prepare ahead and no surprises. It is not a question of making profit. They have to make profit by following law and ethics and not by using loopholes. The regulations will make the companies to follow the rules of the game. If bodyshoppers follow the law and ethics without any fraud they will become reputed companies and the regulations will not destroy them. But their profit may go down but good for everyone. Inspite of insane rules annual cap is reached even unemployment is decade high. I would term protectionist if annual cap is reduced or they make restrictions such that h1b cap usage is so low. In India best persons are available and whatever restrictions they put Indian techies will overcome unless they block it completely. 65k H1b is attached to WTO and no way they can reduce that.
