After 31 million votes were cast, the largest number this season according to Ryan Seacrest, Michael Johns came up short. He had the lowest number of votes. Michael Johns was voted off American Idol, Thursday, April 10, 2008. The bottom 3, on Thursday, were Carly, Syesha, and Michael. Everybody thought either Carly or Syesha would be the one voted off. They were surprised and if you saw this live you saw the stunned look on Michael's face. He looked as though he just didn't believe it. But, he had to accept it, regain his composure, and sing his farewell song.
