Hi,
I want to know if it's permissible to pursue full time education immediately after getting an employer sponsored green card. And if not, how long should I work for the sponsored employer before getting to full time study?

You can renew your permanent resident card only if you lived in canada for atleast 2 years in 5 years. And to get the card, you need to get a guarantor signature who knows you for atleast 2 years e.g. a physician, attorney, etc
If you dont have guarantor - you can use any public notary - not a big deal . they 'll sign your PR Card application for $60 Canadian per application - This is only for people who are already a landed immigrant and do not have a plastic PR Card. You can also keep traveling to Canada without a Plastic PR Card ( for your US visa renewals etc. ) but in your own car only. But the max limit is 3 years from the date you have first landed - You must start maintaining your residence in Canada with in these 3 years before your residency becomes invalid.

I am expecting a quick forward movement in the EB2 India/China category in the next year bulletins.
We have found out that we have about 10 times increase in EB2 India visa numbers from our calculations. I doubt it whether any attorney had any idea better than us, about the numbers we are getting for EB2 India/China from horizontal spill overs. In Ron's post he is no where mntioned any numbers other than saying that CIS is not able to process these many applications. I would be more than happy if some body in our forum posts, the "visa numbers calculations" we have done in this thread, into to his website.
Theres no doubt in the EB2 India/China will catch up current very soon. This is inevitable. There might be a mild retrogression for a very short span of time in the next few bulletins. But after that the dates will run like catching up the Current.

I strongly feel you guys are right regarding EB1 misuse. I also know of some people who are applying in EB1 using these loopholes. we should do something to stop this fraud.

And then sure there is time lag for any one between PERM and I-140/I-485. So we should exclude the PERMS filed in last quarter because by the time, those are eligible for AOS adjudication, most probably they fall in to yr 2011.

Canada immigration is simple & straight forward.
No expensive lawyers are required or any lengthy procedures. Just self do. Also look at the currency rate of US and Canada almost same... Tax is a little high but medical is fully covered.
You need to fill forms,send all your education, papers etc and LO ! you are done and get PR Card. Some of my friends got it in less than 2 yrs.

Other thing, with decision of corporates you can not take decisiion to unsettle your life.. Argument: Microsoft decides to go to Canada and is hirring you .. What can go wrong...many things can go wrong.. you do not know and many things cannot be proved.. With myself it already happened.. In year 2001 Bubble burst my then employer gave me a choice to move to Canada ( Exactly Microsoft kind of public declaration.. Company is also very prestigious and more or less you can consider it of the size of Microsoft).... I took decision not to go and so I was out of the company.. Some friends went there.. after 2 years laid off.. Those 2 years they got American salary on Canadian land (Dream, huh !!!!!!!!) ,, But then what after lay off.. One of them had to sit 6 months to get proper job.. Way less salary... Can this happen to everybody? May not be..But the bottom line is you will have to fiight out the hurdles.. Here you have GC Process hurdle.. In canada you may not have that but you may be having other 100 hurdles... What will you do then? WIll you go to Australia? ...There are 600 countries so at the most you can do 600 migrations :-) By the way both of my friends now want to come back to USA after getting citizenship and their families do not want to move as they have mentally fed up with this move from country to country.. The July 2008 Visa Bulletin has said Exactly the same, but in different words, what I have been saying for the past few months about the EB2-India and EB3-India Movements.
EB2 India will move very fast till 01 JAN 06 as because based on June 2007 bulletin, just before the july fiasco,( http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3236.html ) the PD for China is 01 JAN 06. That means in EB2 Category except India and China every other country is current. So till India reaches 01 JAN 06 PD in EB2, all the spill overs will be moved to EB2 India,because the spill overs will be alloted based on the priority of old PD(Priority Date). By the time India EB2 reaches 01 JAN 06, China PD in EB2 will move further from 01 JAN 06 by using its 7% quota. So Inidia PD for EB2 again moves fast till that changed China PD using the spill overs. After that India and China will share the spill overs based on the PD priority. All this happens if and only if the USCIS works effectively and uses all the available visa numbers for the present fiscal year. My prediction for EB2 India PD is it touch 2005 /even cross few months in 2005 by the end of this year if USCIS works effectively.
For all Eb3s along with EB2s with PD after April 2005, the movement in the coming visa bulletins wont be much encoraging unless the new Obama government does something significant about employent based category or immigrationvoice does a fruitful lobbying. The doings of something by obama government to employment based category is not in our hands. The only thing we could do is to help IV and help ourrselves by contributing to it to reach its financial target for better lobbying. Or else wait for the Visa Bulletin every month with great hopes, sorry dreams, for your PD to become current, and satisfy with your EADs for years ahead.

My husband is a GC holder. For some family reasons we would like to stay in INDIA for couple of years(or maximum time we can). I know we have to apply for a reentry permit. Is it a tough one to get and how early should we apply for it.

USA was like that for past 100 years. Many times Protectionist bills were passed and many times they were relaxed in past. There will be impacts but it will not bring down the country just because they block a few thousand H1bs. If USA needs to go down there should be some other alternative country should come up relative to that level. India and china have a potential but nowhere near to that for now as they so much dependent on USA and dollar.

Do we know the exact Approved EB2 Labors for INDIA. (Year 2005 means Oct 2004 to Sept 2005). because PERM is introdiced in mid 2005.This is Critical

But with the fiasco quotas last May, June and July I was able i-485, however because USCIS issued a receipt for the i-485 they only gave me 12 months H1b renewal. then to add insult to the injury ROW retrogressed meaning another H1b renewal is likely.
At some point I will have to decide whether to begin the H1b renewal process again.

However, my Russian friend (he is a Canadian PR, about to apply for citizenship) got a 10-year US business visa (B-1) and can enter the USA at any time. I've been pulled aside once, in the nearly 7 years I've lived here. I've never had to go through any sort of 'suffering' -- nobody humiliated, beat me up or threw me in some dungeon, and likewise with any of my friends (and I have friends of different nationalities and religion)
I was asked the routine stuff - why I'm visiting the US - who I work for, where I live, how long have I been in the US and if I have family here. They asked, I respond - and that was that. The tone wasn't the most cordial nor was it demeaning. It's not a popularity contest. The key is to not take things personally. I have a lot of respect for President Kalam. He sure did Indians and people in general, proud. Now, please, give it a rest.
I am a Sikh and I wear a turban due to my religious belief - try traveling with a Turban - You will very easily understand what "every time" means....

I've been pulled aside once, in the nearly 7 years I've lived here. I've never had to go through any sort of 'suffering' -- nobody humiliated, beat me up or threw me in some dungeon, and likewise with any of my friends (and I have friends of different nationalities and religion)
I was asked the routine stuff - why I'm visiting the US - who I work for, where I live, how long have I been in the US and if I have family here. They asked, I respond - and that was that. The tone wasn't the most cordial nor was it demeaning. It's not a popularity contest. The key is to not take things personally. I have a lot of respect for President Kalam. He sure did Indians and people in general, proud. Now, please, give it a rest.
I am a Sikh and I wear a turban due to my religious belief - try traveling with a Turban - You will very easily understand what "every time" means....

I am watching this thread last 36 hours, this is not media to discuss political issues, we are here to educate/lobby so called law makers of this country for our immigration issues.
STILL BEING TAMILIAN, I HAVE RIGHTS TO SAY MY THOUGHTS
Tamils in SL is not Indian citizen but they migrated long back still have culture,family relation in India. Rajive got assassinated because he is trying to implement unpopular/unacceptable foreign policy in SL simply by trusting his popularity (he deserved for his mistake) One Sikh killed Indira but we accept another Sikh as our PM. It is Indian gov. lobbied efforts to ban LTTE by western country. they are well organized, disciplined and high tech group. some people raise another issue, they recruited young children to fight, we all are talking so called democartic India, still encouraging child labor every where in India. Srilanka Government boldy refusing all western country pressure, even United Nation (UN, this is pice of shit in the trash) unable to convience SL gov. because it is backed by Indian gov. or you may called Sonia gov.
Bottom line is Sonia is taking revenge on Tamils by supporting SL gov., after all she is from the country that killed Jesus.
We already denounced India, I am carrying Indian passport with shame.
